At the Premiere of "The Recruit," starring Al Pacino, Colin Farrell, and Bridget Moynahan, actress Kimberly J. Brown spoke enthusiastically about her upcoming movie, "Bringing Down the House:"

KIMBERLY J. BROWN ('Sarah' in "Bringing Down the House")

Can you explain a little about the story in “Bringing Down the House?”
Steve Martin plays a lawyer who meets this woman over the Internet. She describes herself as a tall Caucasian lawyer - and it ends up being Queen Latifah, who plays an escaped convict. She shows up at our house with this big afro and this uniform and just comes in and is so funny. [Steve Martin's character] has to work to refine her and she gets some awesome clothes; she wears some really cool outfits. Steve goes out and buys her all these really cool outfits. There's another scene where Joan Plowright's characters is like this wealthy English heiress and Steve's trying to get her account, and she invites herself over for dinner. So we put Queen Latifah in our maid's uniform, which is like this little pink thing. She walks in and it's so funny.

And what character do you play?
I play Steve Martin's daughter. I'm a good high school prep girl but then at night, I sneak out and go to college raves, and he doesn't know about it. I kind of have some troubles at a college rave so Queen Latifah comes and helps me out.

Was this a fun part to play?
I get to show kind of a bad side of myself. I'm playing 15, which is a little bit younger than I am so it's kind of fun to rehash that side of myself.

The movie has a lot to do with matchmaking via the Internet. What do you think of that kind of love connection?
I don't know. I've always been a little suspicious of it, to be honest. I think it's just really hard to know even with, I think, the best screening programs and stuff like that, I think that people can still lie real easily. I personally would probably not do something on the Internet. I'd rather meet them face-to-face and talk to them.
