"Chocolat" Collector's Series DVD

"Chocolat"
on DVD
Guide Rating -
Pros  •  Chocolate lovers will be in paradise
•  Beautiful film translates well to the small screen
Cons  •  Shortage of outtakes & special features
•  Not enough about the chocolate featured in the film!
The Bottom Line - This wonderful romantic tale is just as captivating on DVD as it was in theatres. While there isn't much in the way of extra features, the film itself should provide sufficient entertainment.

"Chocolat - Miramax Collector's Series" DVD Review/Recommendation
"Chocolat" is a magical film, full of love, desire, and, of course, chocolate delights. Nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, "Chocolat" features sparkling performances by Juliette Binoche, Johnny Depp, Lena Olin and Judi Dench. Juliette Binoche plays the role of Vianne, a stranger who moves into an uptight village and attempts to shake the villagers out of their doldrums by opening a very unusual chocolate shop. Her efforts are rewarded as one by one the people of the little town start patronizing the store, seeking out Vianne's help in reviving their sexual relationships through her magical chocolate concoctions.

"Chocolat's" DVD is very basic. Miramax has let the beauty of the film satisfy viewers, rather than adding extra bells and whistles.
