"Atlantis: The Lost Empire" Collector's Edition DVD Review/Recommendation
"Atlantis: The Lost Empire" is not your typical Disney animated film. You won't hear any of the characters break out in song and the animation style is a bit different than classic Disney films. The film centers around Milo Thatch, a nerdy scientist voiced by Michael J. Fox. Following in his grandfather's footsteps, Milo teams with oddball millionaire, Preston Whitmore (John Mahoney) for an action-packed adventure to locate the lost city.
Joining Milo and Preston are an interesting group of experts, including the leader of the diving team, Rourke (James Garner), Vinny the explosives specialist (Don Novello), Moliere the digging expert (Corey Burton), Helga the first mate (Claudia Christian), and Cookie the cook (Jim Varney). The merry adventurers encounter dangers everywhere, and Milo even finds love in the form of a beautiful princess (Cree Summer).
"Atlantis: The Lost Empire" is a rousing adventure culminating in a spectacular action sequence. Kids and adults should enjoy the wild ride and the Collector's Edition DVD includes some very entertaining - and educational - bonus features.
