Odeon Films Inc., An Alliance Atlantis Company is pleased to announce that "My Life Without Me" will screen in competition at the 53rd International Berlin Film Festival. The film is produced by Milestone Productions of Vancouver, BC, Canada and El Deseo of Madrid, Spain.

A Canada/Spain co-production, "My Life Without Me" was shot in Vancouver in the spring of 2002, and stars Sarah Polley, Mark Ruffalo, Scott Speedman, Maria De Medeiros, Amanda Plummer, Leonor Watling and Deborah Harry.

"My Life Without Me" is an emotionally powerful story about a young woman, Anne (Sarah Polley), who makes a radical change in her life when she learns that she has only a few months to live. Unexpectedly, she discovers an appetite for life that drives her to live her last days with a sensual and furious intensity she never knew she possessed. "Nothing in the world is going to change the feeling that your whole life has been a dream and it is only now that you are waking up…"

The film was written and directed by noted Spanish filmmaker, Isabel Coixet ("Those Who Love," "Things I Never Told You"). It was executive produced by Ogden Gavanski, Pedro Almodovar and Agustin Almodovar, produced by Gordon McLennan and Esther Garcia, and associate produced by Michel Ruben.

Ogden Gavanski, Executive Producer and President of Milestone Productions, states, "It was a pleasure working with our co-production partners, El Deseo, and I look forward to working closely with them on the world-wide release of the film." Gordon McLennan, Producer, adds, "The cast and crew have accomplished a great deal with this film. "My Life Without Me" was produced by Milestone Productions Inc. (Canada), and El Deseo D.A. S.L.U. (Spain), in association with DTS Distribudora de Television Digital S.A. (Spain), Antena 3 Television (Spain) and Odeon Films Inc, an Alliance Atlantis Company (Canada), with the participation of The Province of British Columbia Film Incentive BC and the Canadian Film and Video Tax Credit, and in association with Astral Media's The Movie Network and Super Écran, and Movie Central, A Corus Entertainment Company.

"My Life Without Me" will have distribution in Canada by Odeon Films Inc., an Alliance Atlantis Company. The international sales agent is Focus Features of New York, and Sony Pictures Classics has the U.S. rights. As well, the film will be broadcast in Canada by The Movie Network, Super Écran and Movie Central.
