Nicole Kidman and Lauren Bacall may team up again ("Dogville" was the first time the two stars worked together) for Jonathan Glazer's "Birth." In "Birth," a 10 year-old boy falls for an older woman (played by Kidman), and begins to believe he is the reincarnation of her late husband. Bacall would play Kidman's mother.

DreamWorks Pictures may have a "Sopranos" connection as actor James Gandolfini is in negotiations to star in "Surviving Christmas." Ben Affleck's already signed on to star as a wealthy young man who hires a family to share the holidays with. Gandolfini would play the father of the family.

Toni Collette, Calista Flockhart and Tim Blake Nelson are in talks to join director Jeff Nathanson's "Providence," according to The Hollywood Reporter. Inspired by a true story, Matthew Broderick stars as a filmmaker who gets millions of dollars from a mysterious benefactor (Alec Baldwin) on the condition that he shoot his film in Providence.

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding's" Nia Vardalos has agreed on a deal with Universal to distribute "Connie and Carla." Spyglass Entertainment will produce the film, which is set to begin filming in April 2003.
