Joe Francis' "Girls Gone Wild" is getting ready to make the jump from the small screen to the big screen as the wildly popular reality-based franchise is being developed into a scripted feature film comedy. Jay Froberg and Greg Suess will produce the project under their ROAR banner for worldwide distribution by MGM. Francis will serve as Executive Producer.
Scribe team Dina Marie Chapman and Hopwood Depree ("Rhinoskin," "In a Heartbeat") will pen a fictional screenplay inspired by the reality-based series. The raucous, ribald comedy will follow the intersecting adventures of a group of college coeds as they descend on Panama City Beach in their quest to find out just how wild things can get.
Francis, the real-life creator and producer of the "Girls Gone Wild" franchise, says, "I am delighted to see the 'Girls Gone Wild' brand being extended to feature film. I'm confident that the film will offer an original interpretation and reverence to the franchise."
