The tagline for the family action-adventure film "Agent Cody Banks" is: "Save the world. Get the girl. Pass math." For the soundtrack album, add: "Discover some cool music." From The K.G.B. to Askil Holm, Butch Walker to Grand Skeem, Papa Dee to Infinite Mass and more, "Music From & Inspired By Agent Cody Banks" (Hip-O Records), released March 11, 2003, is a global pop, soul and hip-hop adventure.

In the movie, Cody Banks seems like a typical kid, but he's got a really big secret even his family and friends don't know -- he's actually an undercover agent in the CIA. The film opens nationwide on March 14, 2003, and will be distributed by MGM Pictures. "Agent Cody Banks" stars Frankie Muniz ("Malcolm In The Middle," "Big Fat Liar," "My Dog Skip"), Hilary Duff (The Disney Channel's "Lizzie McGuire"), and Angie Harmon ("Law & Order"), and was directed by Harald Zwart.

Performing three cuts on the soundtrack album is The K.G.B., an eclectic San Francisco Bay Area alternative pop group. "Fortune & Fame" and "I'm A Player" hail from the band's 2001 self-titled full-length debut album.

Holm rose from indie obscurity in Oslo, Norway, to mainstream Euro success in 2002 on the strength of "Seven Days In The Sun." His debut album is set for release in 2003. Another Scandinavian artist is Afro-Swede Papa Dee, whose "I Spy" appeared on his 2001 album "The Man Who Couldn't Say No." Papa Dee's mix of reggae and pop has brought him from opening for Ziggy Marley, Shinehead and Steel Pulse to becoming a member of the Brooklyn Funk Essentials. Also from the Land of ABBA is Infinite Mass with "Super Bad Ghetto Spy." Infinite Mass paved the way for Swedish hip-hop in the '90s, first hardcore, then G-funk and lately rap metal.

Combining a rock and pop assault with old school hip-hop, New York City's Grand Skeem is heard with a cover of Run-DMC's "Sucka MC's" from a 2002 self-titled album. Walker is equally non-conformist as the rocker went from Marvelous 3 and "Freak Of The Week" to a solo career and "My Way" from 2002's "Left of Self-Centered" (here in a remix version). Also heard on "Music From & Inspired By Agent Cody Banks" are Janyelle with "What's Real," Katy Rose with "Teaching Myself To Dream," Junk with "Life Is Good" and New World Idols with "Uptown Girl."

The score excerpts "Chasing Cody/The CIA" and "Cody The Spy/Girl School" are from award-winning film composer John Powell, whose credits also include "Shrek," "Two Weeks Notice," "The Road To El Dorado," "Antz" and "Chicken Run."
