Columbia Records will release "Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights" Soundtrack, the soundtrack album from "Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights," the comedian's eagerly-anticipated first full-length animated feature, on Tuesday, November 19, 2002. "Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights" Soundtrack features eight new tracks written and performed by Adam Sandler including "The Chanukah Song Part 3," the latest installment of Sandler's classic comedic seasonal hit.
The album includes an abundance of CD-Extra bonus material:
The first 200,000 copies of the "Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights" Soundtrack CD will feature a national instant win contest. The Grand Prize includes a trip for two to either New York City or Los Angeles and the opportunity to appear in a walk-on role in an upcoming Adam Sandler movie. The first 200,000 copies of the album will also include an Adam Sandler limited edition sticker of Meatball.
Adam Sandler's previous four comedy albums -- the Grammy-nominated "They're All Gonna Laugh At You" (1993), "What the Hell Happened to Me?" (1996), "What's Your Name?" (1997), and "Stan and Judy's Kid" (1999) -- have sold more than five million copies combined. Rising to national fame during the 1990's as "Opera Man" and "Canteen Boy" on "Saturday Night Live," the Brooklyn-born Sandler has starred in a string of blockbuster film comedies including "Billy Madison" (1995), "Happy Gilmore" (1996), "The Waterboy" (1998), "The Wedding Singer" (1998), "Big Daddy" (1999), "Little Nicky" (2000), and "Mr. Deeds" (2002). His latest live action feature is the starring role in P.T. Anderson's "Punch-Drunk Love." Based on a character from the "Whitey" skit on Stan and Judy's Kid, "Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights" is the first animated feature from Sandler's Happy Madison production company.
In "Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights," Adam Sandler provides the voice of "Davey Stone," a 33-year-old party animal who finds himself in trouble with the law after his wild ways go too far one Christmas season. In keeping with yuletide spirit, the judge gives Davey one last chance at redemption, giving Davey a choice of either spending the holiday performing community service as the assistant referee for the youth basketball league or going to jail. Davey thinks the choice is a no-brainer until he runs up against the elfin "Whitey Duvall" (whose voice is also provided by Sandler), the team's head referee. The clashes between the good-natured, yet eccentric, Whitey Duvall and the incorrigible troublemaking Davey Stone provide the laughs and warmth in this "Chanukah Musical" about basketball, old girlfriends, holiday spirits, and the mall.
