Breckin Meyer is best known to moviegoers for his roles in "Road Trip," "Go" and the recently released, "Rat Race," and can currently be seen as the star of his own television show, "Inside Schwartz." His role as Kate's younger brother, Charlie, gives Breckin a chance to break away from teen films and broad comedies, and move into adult romantic comedies.
BRECKIN MEYER (Charlie)
Did you like playing Meg Ryan’s little brother?
I dug it. I mean - I really liked it.
How was this different from your other roles?
The one thing I learned to do in this movie was act classy. I read the script and said it was really classy. You know - I’ve done the teen comedy, the big wacky fluff, broad comedy, but I really liked the idea that this was a classy romantic comedy. When they put the cast together, with Bradley Whitford, Liev Schreiber, Natassha Lyonne, - besides Hugh and Meg – it was a classy cast with really good actors. They gave my character this great arc with Hugh kind of teaching him how to speak to women from the heart, instead of laying lines on them that he read in "Maxim" magazine. It was just a really fun character and I thought it would be a chance to have some really memorable scenes.
