The psychological drama "Mystic River," a Warner Bros. Pictures presentation in association with Village Roadshow Pictures and NPV Entertainment, commenced filming on September 26, 2002 on location in Boston, Massachusetts. This Malpaso production stars Sean Penn ("I Am Sam," "The Thin Red Line"), Tim Robbins ("Arlington Road," "The Shawshank Redemption"), Kevin Bacon ("Trapped," "Hollow Man"), Laurence Fishburne ("The Matrix," "Once In The Life"), Marcia Gay Harden ("Pollack," "Space Cowboys") and Laura Linney ("The Mothman Prophecies," "You Can Count On Me"). The announcement was made today by Jeff Robinov, President of Production, Warner Bros. Pictures.

Directed by Clint Eastwood and produced by Eastwood, Rob Lorenz and Judie G. Hoyt from a screenplay by Brian Helgeland, based on the novel by Dennis Lehane, "Mystic River" explores the dark, interwoven history of three men and their families coming to terms with a brutal murder on the mean streets of south Boston. Bruce Berman serves as the film's executive producer.

"Mystic River" is scheduled for two months production, shooting at locations in and around Boston.
