Multi-talented Bruce Campbell ("Evil Dead," "Army of Darkness") has the enviable role of playing Elizabeth Hurley's husband, Gordon, in "Serving Sara." Despite the fact that thousands of men would love to be in his shoes, in the film, Gordon cheats on his wife and surprises her with divorce papers.

Director Reginald Hudlin felt casting the role of Gordon was just as crucial as getting the roles of Joe (Matthew Perry) and Sara (Elizabeth Hurley) cast right. On choosing Bruce Campbell for the role of the scumbag husband, Hudlin says, "I knew Bruce would be perfect as the jerky partner because he has that unique quality of looking like a matinee idol - with a strong chin and good looks - who can still exhibit this tremendous comedic flare."

BRUCE CAMPBELL (Gordon)

Can you describe your role in "Serving Sara?"
I play Elizabeth Hurley's husband. He cheats on her and wants a divorce. He's a wealthy troublemaker.

How long did the marriage go on before he cheated on her?
It didn't seem to be that long. It was sort of a short-term thing, so I guess he's a big fool (laughing).

In “Serving Sara,” your character is a pretty much a jerk. What's it like to play the 'jerk?'
Easy (laughing). Too easy, unfortunately. It's fun because you have a whole new set of criteria and your job is just to be a troublemaker.

Was there much improv on the set?
Yeah, Reggie does a lot of that actually. But that doesn't mean that it's all going to be in there. I know that we did a bunch of stuff that's not in there but that's what the director…that's his prerogative. We just offer it up and they use what they want.

How is your book, “If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor” doing?
The book is good. I'm doing the paperback tour now. We're doing 25 cities starting right now.

What's your role going to be in “Spider-Man 2?”
“Spider-Man 2” - the milkman who is hit by a bus at the beginning.

Oh really?
No, I don't know (laughing). Sam (Raimi) will cough up something.

Tell me about your part in “Serving Sara.”
It's a very difficult scene where I get into a fight with Matthew Perry. It's very physical and I sort of punch his lights out.

Did you ever accidentally connect with him?
No. It was very professional. It was a lot of fun because I got to do my own stunts.

Physical scenes can get a little dangerous. Were you ever scared?
No, not really. I knew how it was going to end up so I wasn't scared at all (laughing).
