Scott Terra gets to play a type of role made popular in the 1950s and 1960s sci-fi/horror films, the role of a young child who has more sense than most of the adults in the film combined.

As Mike, the son of the Sheriff (Kari Wuhrer), Scott does a great job of pulling off the next to impossible - he makes Mike into a believable kid character that's not obnoxiously cute.

SCOTT TERRA (Mike)

Did you ever see any of the 1950s films that this film pays tribute to?
Yeah, I've seen a couple of them like "Tarantula" movie and "Them."

How would you describe your character?
He was just smart. He wasn't like a geek or anything - well, he was kinda geeky. He was a pretty normal kid.

But your character gets to tell all the adults what to do.
That was a lot of fun. No one would listen to my character. He knew what was going on but nobody believed him.

What do you think it is about spiders that creeps people out so much?
I think maybe it's because they are hairy and they sneak around. You don't know where they are. Maybe it's the eyes or the fangs.

How tough was it for you to work with the CGI effects?
It wasn't that hard. It was fun and a different experience. They'd have two pieces of tape and you'd have to scream at the tape - and it's just tape.

What was the strangest thing the director used to show you where a spider was supposed to be?
One time we had the first assistant director walk across the light so it kind of made a shadow. That was pretty funny and we were all cracking up. It was supposed to be the big tarantula towards the end and it was the first A.D. We were cracking up.

You actually had scenes with real spiders. Was that scary?
No, they were all in cages so they didn't bother me. I'd tap on the glass.

Are you the type of person who would squish a spider or pick them up and carry them outside?
Both. I have a little sister and I don't want them to bite my sister.

Next up you have "Daredevil." In that film you play the younger version of Ben Affleck's character, Matt Murdock. What was that experience like?
I go blind, and then I learn gymnastics and stuff, and then my dad dies. I turn into Daredevil. I'm in the first 20 minutes, the beginning of the film. The film comes out next year.

Did you study Ben Affleck to figure out how to play a younger version of him?
I didn't get to see him very much when he was filming. It was cool - I got to do my own thing with the character.

Are you a fan of the comic book?
Yes. It's a cool comic book. He's a good superhero; he's more like a regular guy. He doesn't have super powers and he kicks butt.
