We worked together in “Baby Boy.”

In keeping with the film's theme, how fast do you like to drive?
Oh man, as fast as it can get (laughing). Blow my hair up, blow my eyebrows, make my eyes squint with the speed.

Do you really drive that fast?
I've got some traffic tickets that show that I'm not scared to put the pedal to the metal, you know what I mean? I don't want to say that too loud because you know that here in California it's only 18 months in between [tickets]. I've got a ticket to pay. I like the fast lane.

Hanging out with Tyrese, he's [into] motorcycles, cars… If you're not doing 80, he doesn't want to hear it. That's why I said, “Okay, now I understand. You've got a chance to use that AND get paid.”

Did you get scared when you heard about his motorcycle accident?
I didn't get scared until I talked to him and he was scared. I think it just made him a little more safe and that's a good thing. He slowed down a bit. And now, of course, he gets a movie in which he has to drive fast. They gave him permission again to go fast. I think he's growing up and getting safer - having fun, but being safe.

Are you an American muscle car person?
I have an antique Porsche that I tool around in.
