CLIFTON COLLINS JR. ("Mindhunters")
What are you working on currently?
I just got done with "Mindhunters" from Renny Harlin, with Mr. Kilmer. So I'm just here to show my support.
What's your character in "Mindhunters?"
I play Vince Sherman, an FBI detective, a profiler, who has a handicap. I don't have the use of my legs.
Was that a difficult character for you?
I was going up and down here (Hollywood Blvd.) two months before I left, in the wheelchair.
Did you do a lot of research?
Yes, I did. I had a really good doctor who worked with me intensively.
What was the hardest thing to do while portraying someone with a handicap?
For me personally, it was knowing that I don't have the weight of my lower legs, and it's all upper body. It's different when you can't feel your lower legs. You can't use that as a weight, an anchor.
What sort of research did you do for the role as an FBI detective?
We met with detectives. I have a cousin who is an undercover narcotics officer for Oakland.
What did you learn about that field?
A lot of secrets and tricks that I can't tell you (laughing).
What type of film is "Mindhunters?"
It's a thriller, it's suspenseful.
Is there any romance in it?
Yes, I'd say there is. It's a little steamy at times. It will be fun.

MICHELLE BRANCH
What brings you out to "The Salton Sea" Premiere?
I just wanted to see a movie (laughing).
What projects are you working on?
What I'm doing right now is I'm writing some stuff for the new album, which hopefully I'll be able to record before the end of the year. I'm just taking some time off before I head back overseas and then come back here and tour.
How would you describe your music?
I'd say it's pop/rock, kind of folk at the same time.
Is that what you think you'll always be doing?
I don't know. As a musician, you naturally evolve and grow, and change. I really don't know what I'll sound like a year from now.
Is acting in your future?
I don't know. I'm a really bad actress. Who knows (laughing)?

MILO VENTIMIGLIA ("Gilmore Girls")
What brings you to "The Salton Sea" Premiere?
Movie, popcorn, drinks, Warner Bros. They produce the show I work on so I'm excited to see what they put out for this.
It doesn't really seem like this ties in with "Gilmore Girls."
(Laughing) Yeah, I don't think it really ties in with a young mom and her daughter. I'm just a big fan of movies in general. They invited me to come to this and I'm excited to see Val Kilmer, to see what this movie is all about.
Anything besides "Gilmore Girls" going on right now?
At this point, no. I'm just trying to get some other work and I'm excited about next season.
How would you describe your character in "Gilmore Girls?"
I play Jess. He's this reckless youth that comes to town. He's the rotten apple of the bunch, I guess.
How close is that to your own personality?
Not too close. There definitely is a distinct separation between the two of us.
Is it fun to play someone like that?
Oh yeah, it's a blast. I was a pretty good kid growing up. I was good in school and didn't get into trouble. Getting a role like that where I can cause a little havoc is fun.
