Jamie Kennedy took one of the characters from his old stand-up act and together with Nick Swardson, pounded out a script about a privileged white rapper who thinks he's from a tough 'hood. The 'hood Kennedy's B-Rad character grew up in happens to be the very affluent community of Malibu, and about the scariest thing B-Rad and his posse have to deal with on a daily basis is the line at the nearest trendy coffee shop.

Jamie Kennedy and Nick Swardson joined their fellow "Malibu's Most Wanted" stars for the film's April 10, 2003 Hollywood premiere. Keeping with the spirit of the film, Kennedy helped judge a rap contest prior to his turn on the red carpet. After crowning Boston's 'Diamond Gliss' the eventual winner, Kennedy joined Taye Diggs, Blair Underwood, Kal Penn, Keili Lefkovitz, Damien Wayans, Young Dre and director John Whitesell to discuss making a rap movie and whether or not this film will encourage would-be rappers.

JAMIE KENNEDY ('B-Rad')

Is this movie going to encourage white rappers or discourage white rappers?
I don't know. In the beginning I thought it was going to discourage them but it's probably going to encourage them, because in the end Brad's a good guy and he means well.

Is it tough to make it in the rap world?
It's all about the skills. Brad doesn't have any skills.

How difficult was it to write rap songs?
They were hard sometimes because of the... It wasn't that hard it was just [trying] to make them stupid. It was hard to write them. It's hard.

What did you draw upon for inspiration?
Beverly Hills, Malibu, coffee shops…

Why should people see "Malibu's Most Wanted?"
It's a lot of fun. I hope people like it.

TAYE DIGGS ['Sean']

What was it like working with this cast?
It was the best. They were very funny. We were constantly laughing on set. They allowed us to improvise so a lot of the funny lines, I think we made even more funny. It was a great experience.

Can you describe your role in “Malibu's Most Wanted?”
I play a character by the name of Sean. He's a Julliard-trained actor who gets hired to play a gangster and kidnap Jamie Kennedy's character and take him to the hood.

Do you think there will more white rappers in the future? Will this movie discourage potential rappers?
This movie probably would. Hip-hop music is quickly taking over the nation's [airwaves]. I'm sure you are going to see a whole bunch of rappers, period.

Is that a good thing?
Yes, if they're good, if they are good.
