MELISSA SAGEMILLER (Leah)

Can you describe your role in "Sorority Boys?"
I basically play the leader of the D.O.G. sorority. She takes the three guys - three girls - in and helps them out, not knowing that they are guys. She ends up falling for one of those girls/guys in last-ditch effort to sort of find somebody to be with. Her attraction to the opposite sex wasn't working so decides to try something new. She's the love interest of the film.

Was this a fun movie to shoot?
It was totally fun being with them. Their comedy was wackier than mine, but all the guys were great.

Who do you think this movie will most appeal to?
I think you just have to go there with the film, let it take you on its ride. It's a really crazy, wacky comedy and you've just got to have fun with it. I think all ages will like it. My younger sister saw it and she loved it, even though it's rated R. I think adults will like it; my dad saw it he loved it (laughing).

Have you ever wished you were a boy?
Yeah, I do actually sometimes. I was a tom-girl when I was growing up. It would be great to be the opposite sex and see what it's like.

Did you have tips for the guys when they were dressing as girls?
I was the sort of the unofficial boob adjuster; sometimes they got a little off kilter here or there. But no, they were dressed to the nines and they had it all down. The costume designer really, really knew what she was doing and those guys played it off well - they really did. They were very comfortable in their costumes.

Too comfortable?
(Laughing) No, you'd hear them gripe every now and then about their razor burns or this or that, but they were troopers about it.

Who made the prettiest woman?
The prettiest woman? Barry, he made the prettiest woman. The best woman? I think Michael strutted his stuff the best. He really got into it and he was really sassy.

I heard that Harland does a lot of ad-libbing in this movie. Did you have to work off of him?
He does. It was hard not to work off of him because he's so funny and he'll get a laugh out of you so easily, which is actually hard if you're trying to stay serious and be the 'straight' character, which I sort of was. I've got scars in the inside of my mouth from biting my lip trying not to laugh. I'm still recovering (laughing).

Do you have any other projects coming out soon?
No, I'm looking around and still trying to decide.

What do you want to do next, a romantic comedy, action adventure…?
I like drama. My first movie that I did, “Soul Survivors,” was a drama and I'm just drawn to that; that's sort of my forte. I love comedy too, and it's great to both and mix it up, but I really love drama.
