RON RIFKIN

Can you describe your role in “Dragonfly?”
I play a doctor, a friend of Kevin Costner's. I'm worried about him (Costner's character) because he's acting a little weird lately.

What was it like working with Kevin?
He's a pain in the ass - very difficult (laughing as Kevin is being interviewed close by). Terrible, not a nice person, not talented. Seriously, he's fantastic.

How many years are you contracted for on “Alias?”
For the run of the show. There are so many twists and curves in this show, there are so many surprises. We just got a script for next week that is so exciting.

If the show goes on for years and years, do you think your character will find out that Sydney and her father are double agents?
Yes, but maybe my character is a double agent. Maybe you're going to find out in four or five years that I'm also CIA. Wouldn't that be interesting?

Will you get your finger back?
They are sewing it back on. By the next episode, I will have my cast off.

SUSANNA THOMPSON (Dr. Emily Darrow)

How would you describe your character?
This is how I sum her up: I remember this one moment when I was rehearsing when I suddenly realized she's a woman who “includes.” She just keeps including in her life and thoughts, she doesn't exclude. And I thought to myself what it is like to live in a life where you just allow more and more and more to come into your life. That's how I view her.

Does a part of you have to belief in what this movie's about to give that performance?
For me, yes - but I do.

Was there a special effect used in portraying you in the afterworld?
Yes, there was. They had me up on a crane at one point, with the hair floating, to create sort of an underwater look.

What was it like working with Kevin Costner?
Terrific. Not only is he talented, but he's very willing to be there and play with you, and help create with you. He's got a great sense of humor.

What do you think the audience will like about his character?
His vulnerability. I think he's magnificent.

How hard was it to work with the parrot in the film?
The only way I could work with the animals was to embrace “Emily's” love of animals, and go there because I'm very unsure of animals. I was not raised with animals. As long as I felt her heart with me, then I was fine with it.
