Angel Eyes
Luiz Mandoki directed this Gerald DiPego screenplay (with a rewrite by Michael Seitzman). Stars Jennifer Lopez, Jim Caviezel, Sonia Braga, Terrence Howard, Jeremy Sisto, Monet Mazur, Victor Argo, and Shirley Knight.
In Brief: Jennifer Lopez stars as a police officer who falls for the widowed Jim Caviezel. There's a bit of a twist to the love story, as Jennifer and Jim explore their backgrounds and past relationships. Video Release: October 16, 2001



A Knight's Tale
Director/Screenwriter Brian Helgeland brings us this film, based loosely on "The Canterbury Tales." Stars Heath Ledger, Mark Addy, Paul Bettany, Laura Fraser, Rufus Sewell, and Shannyn Sossamon.
In Brief: The official site opens with an intro backed by the pounding beat of Queen's "We Will Rock You." The movie itself can best be summed up using the official site's own wording:
"Two Knights - Two Horses - Two Pieces of Sharp Lumber - But, Only One Chick - Do the Math"

The Man Who Cried
Written and directed by Sally Porter. Stars Christina Ricci, John Turturro, Johnny Depp, and Cate Blanchett.
In Brief: From the official site: "A girl whose name and language are taken away, who loses everything she loves and is driven into silence, nevertheless finds a singing voice and finally manages to find her long lost father." Video Release: January 2, 2002



The Mummy Returns
Written and directed by Stephen Sommers. Stars Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo, Oded Fehr, Patricia Velasquez, and The Rock (Dwayne Johnson).
In Brief: This much awaited sequel to "The Mummy" promises bigger and better special effects! The film is set 10 years after the first "Mummy," and Rick (Fraser) and Evie (Weisz) now have a child. Imhotep's mummy ends up in a British Museum where, once again, it springs to life. This time around, Imhotep gets to take on the WWF's The Rock, as The Scorpion King. It's stretching it to call this one a romance but Imhotep wouldn't want to come back to life so desperately if it weren't for the love of Anck-Su-Namun. Video Release: October 2, 2001



Nora
Written and directed by Pat Murphy. Stars Ewan McGregor, Susan Lynch, Andrew Scott, Vincent McCabe, Veronica Duffy, and Aedin Moloney.
In Brief: Writer James Joyce (McGregor) meets and falls in love with an outspoken country girl from Galway, who recently moved to Dublin and has found work as a chambermaid. This is the true story of Joyce's relationship with Nora Barnacle, the woman who inspired Joyce's Molly Bloom character.



Pavilion of Women
Directed by Yim Ho and written by Paul Collins and Luo Yan. Stars Luo Yan, Willem Dafoe, Shek Sau, John Cho, Yi Ding, Koh Chieng Mun, and Anita Loo.
In Brief: Based on the Pearl S. Buck novel, and set in 1930's China. This film tells the story of a woman who selects a new wife for her husband, in order to allow herself to explore life. She explores so well that she finds new love in the form of an American missionary, played by Willem Dafoe.



Pearl Harbor
Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Production, directed by Michael Bay, and written by Randall Wallace. Stars Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Kate Beckinsale, Tom Sizemore, Jon Voight, Alec Baldwin, Dan Aykroyd, and Colm Feore.
In Brief: Aside from the obvious war drama, this is a love story about two men (Affleck and Hartnett) in love with the same woman. The romance is integral to the film's storylines. Video Release: December 4, 2001



Shrek
Based on the children's book, "Shrek!" by William Steig. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson. Voice cast consisting of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, John Lithgow, and Linda Hunt.
In Brief: The evil Lord Farquaad kicks all the storybook characters off of his land. The now homeless characters invade Shrek's peaceful home and he'll do just about anything to get back his peace and quiet. Just about anything includes rescuing a princess who is set to marry Lord Farquaad. Video Release: Oct. 30, 2001
