May 3, 2004 - New Line Cinema has tapped Jason Ensler to direct the comedy movie "Grilled" starring "Everybody Loves Raymond's" Ray Romano and "The King of Queens'" Kevin James.
New Line hopes to begin production on the film in late June. In a press release announcing Ensler's attachment to the film, New Line production president Toby Emmerich said, "It's always exciting when you get the chance to work with a new young talent like Jason. He has a bright future ahead of him and we are confident he will do a fantastic job on 'Grilled.'"
Jon Klane, Brad Jenkel, Rory Rosegarten, Jeff Sussman and William Tepper are producing the film. Tepper also wrote the screenplay which, according to New Line, "revolves around two friends who work together as door-to-door salesmen to sell bulk quantities of frozen meat. But when the pair hits a sales slump, they are forced to sell a large quantity of beef in a single day or face the consequences."
