Gretchen Mol Set to Star as Legendary Model Bettie Page

March 31, 2004 Killer Films announced pre-production is currently underway on the movie "The Ballad of Bettie Page," starring Gretchen Mol ("Rounders") as the legendary 1950s model. Mary Harron will direct the film from a script she co-wrote with Guinevere Turner ("American Psycho").

Bettie Page was one of the most successful pin-up models back in the '50s and was famous for posing in bondage and other fetish positions and apparel. Page, the target of a Senate investigation into pornography, became one America's first sex icons.

Lili Taylor, David Strathairn, Jonathan M. Woodward, Cara Seymour, Tara Subkoff and Kevin Carroll co-star with Mol in "The Ballad of Bettie Page." The film is executive produced by Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler, and the producer is Lori Keith Douglas.
