"Troy" Movie Review

A comfy pillow is a recommended accessory for anyone watching “Troy.” Stretching three hours in length, “Troy’s” not the easiest movie to view in one sitting. While the story is fairly accessible even for those not versed in Homer’s “The Iliad,” the film often taxes your patience by teasing battle sequences and then lapsing into filler scenes of minor subplots that seem to spring up at random throughout the film.

Buried in “Troy” is a good 2 hour movie. Show me Brad Pitt and Eric Bana in all their muscular glory, keep the love scenes featuring Orlando Bloom, Diane Kruger, Brad Pitt and Rose Byrne in, and add in a few more epic-sized battle scenes. Subtract out the distracting babies and other nonsense and you’ve got a damn fine film. That’s the “Troy” I was hoping to see.

GRADE: B- (An A- for acting and a C- for dialogue and direction)

"Troy" was directed by Wolfgang Petersen and is rated R for graphic violence and some sexuality/nudity.
