"The Italian Job" Becomes a Game

May 8, 2003 - Eidos Interactive is developing a video game based on the action adventure movie, "The Italian Job." The game, which is being developed by Climax (driving-game specialists), will be released on PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system, Xbox(TM) game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCube(TM) formats.

In a statement announcing the creation of the game, Rob Dyer, President of Eidos Interactive said, "Climax has a pedigree of great racing and motorsport games. Eidos looks forward to bringing the thrill and excitement of 'The Italian Job' film to living-rooms in the form of a fast-paced, action-packed racing game."

Gamers will be able to take on the role of Charlie Croker and his gang members who are left for dead after being double-crossed during one of the biggest gold bullion heists ever and seek vengeance on the guy who betrayed the team.

The film "The Italian Job" will hit theaters this summer. Directed by F. Gary Gray, the film stars Mark Wahlberg, Edward Norton, Charlize Theron, Seth Green, Jason Statham, Mos Def and Donald Sutherland.
