The stars of the 2003 remake of the classic horror film "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" gathered in Hollywood for the movie’s World Premiere. With suitably creepy music playing in the background, the attractive young cast including Jessica Biel, Mike Vogel, Eric Balfour, and Erica Leerhsen, joined their director Marcus Nispel for a turn on the blood red carpet.

JESSICA BIEL ('Erin')

The Camden family on "7th Heaven" is just so perfect. Does the clan in "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" bear any resemblance to the Camdens?
(Laughing) No. A lot of the cast of this movie smokes a lot of marijuana so that’s not really what the Camdens do. I’d say that they were very different.

Was this a very demanding role, with all the physical stunts and screaming?
Yes. I lost my voice probably three or four times throughout the whole filming. Incredibly physically exhausting, emotionally, mentally, and really after a day, you just really wanted to sleep for a week. It was pretty hardcore.

What was your most difficult stunt?
I don’t know, I think the stuff in the rain. The stuff we had to do in the rain was really hard. I mean, being wet in jeans and having to maintain this intensity, this emotion, with chaos going on around you. It was really difficult to not be uncomfortable and miserable, and to focus on everything that you needed to focus on.

Was it hard to act scared when Leatherface was coming at you with a chainsaw?
No, that was easy. When he was coming with the chainsaw it’s freaky. It’s very loud and he’s very big and you kind of sink yourself into the whole reality of it. It’s very scary and it’s so easy to be terrified by him and the chainsaw.

Was Andrew Bryniarski as crazy off the set as when he was in character as Leatherface?
He's crazy but he's fun.

DIRECTOR MARCUS NISPEL:

You come from a music video background. Does that influence show up in this movie?
No, we don’t break out in song and dance in this one I’m afraid – but we do have a chainsaw (laughing). [That's] the closest thing to a lead guitar.

What attracted you to this movie?
I was very curious about the story the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" was based on. "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is a police file, not a Hollywood movie necessarily. Three movies have already been based on it: "Psycho," "The Silence of the Lambs," and the first "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." We went back into the file and we wanted to get into the psychology of Ed Gein, the mastermind behind all this.

Is a chainsaw really the weapon of choice in Texas?
No, it’s actually fire ants and chiggers. The fire ants climb – while you are shooting - up on your legs. They have a secret signal and then they all sting you at the same time. They can kill a cow like that, so you want to cover up. Then, when it’s dark, chiggers like to come out. They go right under your nuts and they hurt like crazy. The only thing that works is nail polish remover.

How did you find that out?
Don’t ask – the painful way (laughing).
