"What was important," says Pearce, "was to find material not only relative to the narrative and the emotional perspective of the movie but also cohesive as a collection of original songs to help Drum (and the audience) make sense of his awkward and rather unfulfilled world."
Guy Pearce will be appearing as a musical guest on The Craig Kilborn Show on May 11th and Extra on May 12th. 'A Slipping Down Life" will be available exclusively on iTunes beginning Tuesday, May 18, 2004.

The film "A Slipping Down Life" is based on the novel by Pulitzer-prize winning author Anne Tyler. It tells the story of Drumstrings Casey, a Jim Morrison-like musician who becomes the subject of Evie Decker's infatuation. The two become involved in an intensely emotional affair which sets off a chain of events that neither anticipated. Lions Gate Films will release the film in New York & Los Angeles on May 14th, 2004 and across the country beginning on May 28th.
On making this record, Pearce says, "For me it was a joy to perform such great music and with the very 'hip and fashion savvy' Joe Henry as our recording producer and mentor it was also an unforgettable learning experience ... one to add to an eclectic musical life."
Guy Pearce's album "A Slipping Down Life" will be released on July 13, 2004.
