With threats of death hanging over his head, David Carradine ('Bill') answered a few of my questions while trying not to get too specific or give away too many details.
Can you talk about working with Quentin Tarantino?
I can't say too much except he was really great. They'll kill me if I say much about the movie.
Do you do any stunt work?
[I do] a lot of fighting.
Is there anything you can say about the fighting that they won't kill you for disclosing?
Nobody is prepared for this movie. It's like nothing you've ever seen before. People think they know Quentin, but this is something else. This is far beyond anything.
There are rumors that Quentin intends to break the film into two movies. Have you heard anything about that?
I've heard that, yes. I can't say.
Is there enough on film?
Oh, there's enough film, for sure. We did that.
Who is the main person you fight against?
I fight Uma Thurman and Michael Jai White, and a whole bunch of Chinese guys that I don't know their names (laughing).
I hear this film is going to be extremely violent.
Well it is violent but Quentin gives you a break. I can't tell you how, but he avoids... Even when it's violent, it's funny. The movie is just fun from beginning to end. It's just awesome. The photography [was done by] Bob Richardson who did things like "JFK" and "Snowing Falling on Cedars" - the real pretty picture and that's the way the picture looks. It's really beautiful, the picture.
Gorgeous, but with a lot of violence?
Yeah. A lot of laughs, a lot of fighting and stuff like that.
