Dumb and Dumberer movie

Eric Christian Olsen and Derek Richardson in "Dumb and Dumberer"

New Line Cinema
In the shopping cart scene where the two of you are coasting down the street, how much of that scene was actually done by a stuntman?
ERIC: You can see our faces for all of it. They're like, "Just jump on there and grab on!" They waited until the last day, just in case we died.

How choreographed was your “Ice Ice Baby” dance?
ERIC: There's no choreography. We just rolled film on that. We set up the cameras and Troy's like, “Look like Lloyd and dance." I just ran our there and danced for half an hour and pulled every muscle in my body.

Do you like doing that kind of physical comedy?
ERIC: Yeah, it's fun. It's a blast. I think it's so important for these two characters because Jim [Carrey’s] a genius with that stuff. It was such a big part of the first film.

Did you ever do anything that someone said was too over the top?
DEREK: Well that's the thing. With these guys, nothing's over the top to them; it all makes sense. We're not being dumb, just really committed.

Did you stay in character off the set or did you just try to drop that as soon as possible?
ERIC: I know with him [indicating Derek], he picked up this walk, which is kind of this little wobble thing he does. He did it all the time. I remember the stuntmen saying, "Listen, you're going to be doing a lot of your own stunts, but we're going to bring someone in for Derek, because he's kind of feeble." Because he was in character all the time, they thought he was going to trip. He was just wandering [around] with this little waddle he has. They were really worried about him. I was like, "No guys, he really is a good athlete. Trust me, he's fine." They were like, "We just don't want him to get hurt. It looks like he might break."
