ROBERT ENGLUND: I dont know about Ken, but my last makeup was in 94. Technology has changed. I had a great girl doing me on this from a Canadian shop. My girl did Taken for Steven Spielberg and shes doing Scooby Doo 2 right now. Shes great. The problem with me is getting it off. Im usually last. It took a good hour for me to get the makeup off this time. I dont know if theyre using different adhesives but probably because I did so much water stuff in this movie. If the water got underneath, Id look like a big condom.
KEN KIRZINGER: My makeup wasnt nearly as bad as his. Its basically a one-piece hood that I pull on and then they color my face up to hide behind the holes. There was only one time I had to wear the full makeup. Then the mask goes on. In between takes, if I had an hour off, I could take the mask off, the hood off, and Id be sitting fairly comfortably. Whereas Robert had it all the time.
ROBERT ENGLUND: I was sealed in. It was so cold in the lake that we had a hot tub. I dont know how the kids did it. Ken and I, a couple of times we had those little wetsuits hidden under our costumes. But even with those on, weve got all the blood and stuff on us which catches the cold air, and then your costume gets wet. Wed run and jump in these hot tubs. I dont know how the kids did it. Jason Ritter, Johns Ritter kid, and Monica Keena were in that lake for two weeks doing that scene. Ken and I are thinking were the big macho guys on this movie, but those kids were above and beyond the call of duty when we were out at Camp Crystal Lake.
