Guide Review - "The Rookie" DVD Review
According to writer Mike Rich, if "The Rookie" wasn't based on a true story you'd never believe it as a film. The real life story of Jim Morris is a story that's almost too fantastic to be true. After Morris suffered an injury that put an end to any dreams of being a major league pitcher, he settled down as a family man and high school teacher. While coaching his school's baseball team, he made a bet in order to motivate his players. Little did he realize that he'd have to live up to his end of the bet when his team did the impossible - they made it to the championships. Featuring outstanding performances by Dennis Quaid and Rachel Griffiths, "The Rookie" is a heartwarming tale of love, family, and never giving up on your dreams.
