Guide Review - "Shanghai Knights" DVD Review
No character introduction is necessary in this sequel, so we jump straight into the story. Chon Wang (Chan) gets news that his father has been murdered, and leaving behind his life as the peacekeeper of Carson City, he reunites with Roy O'Bannon (Wilson) to track down his father's killer. Complicating matters, between the banter and the battles, O'Bannon finds a new love interest in the form Chon's beautiful little sister, Lin (Fann Wong).Chan and Wilson have good onscreen chemistry, even though the jokes feel a little bit like retreads. The DVD would have benefited from a gag reel or outtakes, however it does include an entertaining look at the creation of a few selected fight scenes, as well as extended versions of a few others.
