"Moonlight Mile" is the story of how the death of a loved one affects the immediate family and those closest to the dearly departed. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Joe Nast, a young man left directionless after the death of his fiancee. Susan Sarandon and Dustin Hoffman co-star as the parents of his fiancee who deal with the loss in their own unique ways.
Backed by a catchy soundtrack, "Moonlight Mile" deals with an extremely touchy subject without being overly morbid. Very loosely based on events from writer/director Brad Silberling's life, "Moonlight Mile" is a revealing look at love and loss. The cast is topnotch and director Silberling was smart enough to let them find their characters and tell the story through their own unique voices.
