Guide Review - "Frida" DVD Review
"Frida" follows the life of famed Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, from her childhood through her last days. Salma Hayek is simply brilliant as the woman who lived life more passionately and endured more hardships than should have been humanly possible.Alfred Molina seems to revel in bringing to life artist Diego Rivera, Frida's philandering husband. Antonio Banderas, Ashley Judd and Edward Norton appear in small but important supporting roles. Through the combined efforts of director Julie Taymor, Salma Hayek, and the entire cast, "Frida" was one of the best films of 2002.
Loaded with extras, this 2 disc set includes plenty of featurettes on the making of the movie as well as background information on the life and art of Frida Kahlo.
