Audrey Tautou Dirty Pretty Things

Audrey Tautou stars in "Dirty Pretty Things"

Buena Vista Home Entertainment

The Bottom Line

"Amelie" star Audrey Tautou teams up with Chiwetel Ejiofor for this thriller, directed by Stephen Frears. Suspenseful, provocative, and entertaining, "Dirty Pretty Things" didn't find much of an audience (outside of film critics) during its very limited theatrical release. Now on DVD, this is one indie that's definitely worth checking out - even for fans of strictly mainstream movies.

Cons
  • None worth noting

Guide Review - "Dirty Pretty Things" DVD Review

Two immigrants - Audrey Tautou as Senay and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Okwe - struggle to survive by keeping a low-profile as part of London's working class. Working at a hotel full of criminal activity, they both discover there's a high price to be paid for staying one step ahead of the authorities.

Nominated for an Oscar, "Dirty Pretty Things" won four British Independent Film awards as well as numerous award nominations from film critics societies and film festivals. One of those movies that critics love but audiences never see, "Dirty Pretty Things" is compelling entertainment that'll hopefully find an audience on DVD.
