The unprecedented superstar line-up for the soundtrack includes all new music from Beyonce, 50 Cent, Notorious B.I.G., Justin Timberlake, Nelly and Murphy Lee, Mary J. Blige, Lenny Kravitz, Pharell, Loon, Fat Joe, Foxy Brown among others. Cumulatively, the aforementioned artists featured on the set are responsible for more than 200 million record sales, worldwide.
The first album release under the new Bad Boy/Universal Records partnership, the "Bad Boys II" soundtrack is already receiving rave critical reviews. New York's Daily News exclaims: " ... with the Roman numeral in its name, this [soundtrack] stands second to none." Rolling Stone gives the set a 3-star review declaring, "This is how to do a hip-hop soundtrack ... " People magazine calls the collection, "stellar ... "
The first two lead tracks from the soundtrack -- Jay-Z's "LA- LA-LA" and "Shake Ya Tail Feather" by Nelly, P. Diddy and Murphy Lee -- have exploded at radio. Both tracks have the distinction of being the #1 Most Added Tracks at Urban and Rhythmic Crossover radio formats. Other tracks feature historical pairings -- Snoop Dogg with Bad Boy artist Loon -- and showcase Bad Boy Records' new up and coming talent including rapper Loon and the six member group Da Band featured on MTV's current episodes of "Making The Band II."
