There will not be an “American Pie 3.” No way. It’s not going to happen. Seann William Scott uttered words very similar to these immediately after filming “American Pie 2.” Well Scott’s back, as are “Pie” kids Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Eddie Kaye Thomas and “Pie” parents, Eugene Levy and Molly Cheek in “American Wedding.”

In this interview with Seann William Scott (Stifler) and Eddie Kaye Thomas (Finch), Scott and Thomas take a look at character development throughout the series, working with naked women on the set, and why audiences love these characters:

Was it fun to bring Stifler this far?
SEANN WILLIAM SCOTT: I had the most fun on this movie because Eddie and I got to do more. I thought that, because you see the character more, I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t one-dimensional. This is the last time you’re going to see him, he’s older, and it kind of completes that whole character. I thought it was just fun because these guys have been kind of archenemies throughout the whole movie and they kind of come together.

Did you tell the writers you needed an arc?
SEANN: It was so funny when it was written, the arc was already in there. I just liked the idea of him being a coach and kind of a loser, but he doesn’t see it that way. He doesn’t realize he doesn’t have any friends, but it’s really the completion of that guy that I grew up with.

Could this make it harder to distance yourself from the Stifler typecast?
SEANN: I don't know. I guess we’ll see.

Eddie, you have more to do in this one. Was it as much fun as the first one?
EDDIE KAYE THOMAS: Yes. I think for me it’s been three different things altogether. The first one, losing the virginity. The second one was all the tantric stuff. All three were very unique experiences. This one was certainly no exception. This was totally different than anything in the other films.

How long did it take to choreograph the bachelor party?
SEANN: It started off really cool because the girls were naked. Then it just got weird because we were used to it, because we would see them [all the time]. It’s like 8 in the morning [and Nikki Ziering’s] walking around in her underwear.
EDDIE: The most beautiful women in the world in their underwear. Just another day at the office.
SEANN: It felt long.
EDDIE: We also shot a lot of stuff that’s just going to be on the DVD for that bachelor party sequence, so that won’t be in the theaters. So, along with the DVD stuff, it was really almost two weeks of just bachelor party.

Did you know it was just for the DVD?
EDDIE: I think some stuff might have wound up in the movie. I’m not 100 percent sure.
SEANN: [We shot] a lot of weird stuff for the DVD though.
EDDIE: The idea is it’s the unrated version, and it’s a bachelor party, which just lends it so that you can do so many things.

What’s the craziest thing we didn’t get to see?
SEANN: There’s a lot of weird stuff at the bachelor party.
EDDIE: There was a lot of toys, and dolls you could blow up.
SEANN: Stifler has a scene with a sex doll and it’s really weird. Eddie finds him with a sex doll. I really liked that stuff. It should have been in there.
