Acting Background:

Jared Padalecki took drama classes in middle school and acted in school plays. In high school Padalecki competed in drama competitions and won the 2000 Presidential Scholar Award for the National Foundation for Advancement of the Arts over 7,000 other entrants.

Padalecki's winning streak continued when he auditioned and won the chance to present a trophy at the first Teen Choice Awards. That brief appearance caught the eye of a talent manager and, after he graduated high school, Padalecki moved to LA and landed a role on Gilmore Girls.
