March 18, 2004 - Olivier Martinez has been called one of the best kept secrets in France. After schooling at Frances Conservatoire National Superieur dArt Dramatique, Martinez leapt from theatre to television and ultimately to film.
Martinez created a stir as Diane Lanes lover in Adrian Lynes "Unfaithful" with Richard Gere. He was most recently seen in "S.W.A.T.," the summer blockbuster directed by Clark Johnson. Alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Farrell and Michelle Rodriguez, Martinez portrays Alex, an international criminal who offers $100 million to anyone who can arrange his escape.
Most recently, Martinez co-starred in Robert Allan Ackermans retelling of "The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone" for Showtime. In a role originally created by Warren Beatty, Martinez played the Italian gigolo Paolo opposite Anne Bancroft and Helen Mirren.
He is currently in production on director Chris Nahons thriller "Empire of the Wolves" with Jean Reno.
