Pierce Brosnan Discusses Seraphim Falls
Monday January 22, 2007
In the action drama Seraphim Falls, America's Civil War has ended but that doesn't mean every man who fought in it is ready to put down his weapons and forgive his enemies. Confederate Colonel Morsman Carver (Liam Neeson) is unwilling to let the man he holds a personal vendetta against escape unpunished. Carver's out for revenge and nothing will stop him from hunting down and killing his greatest enemy, Union Captain Gideon (Pierce Brosnan).Brosnan fans shouldn't go into Seraphim Falls expecting to see the suave and sexy actor looking like Bond. Brosnan grew a beard (and didn't hide the gray hairs in it) and got dirtied up to play the role of a Civil War veteran. "I grew the beard for the specific reason that if I played the role like this, the physiognomy which is just kind of like I said, he's a field agent in many ways – he gets himself out of situation with a knife and because his mind-set is so sharp," explained Brosnan. "It's like a James Bond character and I didn't want the confusion."

Box Office Report - Jan 19-21
The weekend's only new release, The Hitcher, failed to stop Stomp the Yard from maintaining its hold on first place. And despite a batch of films expanding into more markets (including the award-winning Dreamgirls), two familiar faces clung to the top spots on the box office chart. But I'm making a bold prediction: this will be Stomp's last weekend in first...Top 10 Films for the Weekend Ending 1/21/07:
