Box Office Report - June 16-18
Disney/Pixar's animated family film Cars was able to hold off the Jack Black wrestling comedy, Nacho Libre, and finish in first. Despite a second place finish in its opening weekend, writer/director Jared Hess' sophomore effort (Napoleon Dynamite was his first feature film) managed to pull in $28 million. That's not at all shabby considering the budget for the film was just $25 million. The third and please make it final Fast and the Furious movie did surprisingly well considering it was Paul Walker-less and opened without much pre-release publicity.Top 10 Films for the Weekend Ending 06/18/06:
