Jack Black Shows Off His Moves in Nacho Libre
Friday June 16, 2006
Picture Napoleon Dynamite but instead of dealing with high school issues, the lead character is a Mexican wrestler. That's the easiest way to describe Nacho Libre, a film fans of Napoleon Dynamite and its writer/director Jared Hess will probably flock to in huge numbers. Hess' second film is so similar in tone to his first, you expect Black to bust out with a 'sweet' comment any moment (he doesn't - Hess doesn't push it that far).Nacho Libre isn't a vanity project for Black. If it was, the comedic actor no doubt would have vetoed the idea of wearing unflattering tights and going shirtless. Half the comedy in the film comes from Black parading around in his lucha libre leotard and showing off his impressively flabby upper torso. No, Black did this film for one reason - the opportunity to work with Hess was too attractive to pass up.

The Lake House Premiere Coverage
Fans with signs supporting the stars of The Lake House lined Sunset Blvd in Hollywood on June 13th hoping for the chance to get a photo or an autograph from either Sandra Bullock or Keanu Reeves. The actors had to feel the love as huge white signs with "We Love You Sandy" and "Keanu, Will You Marry Me?" waved by enthusiastic - and loud - fans were hard to miss. I didn't see Reeves greet the fans, but Bullock spent a good amount of time signing autographs and posing for pictures. The notoriously private Reeves ducked off the red carpet early on, leaving his co-star to face the media on her own, something Bullock did with style and good humor.(Photo © Richard Chavez)
