Orlando Bloom Joins Scott's "Kingdom"
Orlando Bloom was an elf for Peter Jackson in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, a reluctant pirate in this summer's blockbuster hit, "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," and now he'll play a knight in director Ridley Scott's upcoming romantic drama, "Kingdom of Heaven." Box Office Report - October 24-26, 2003
"Scary Movie 3" broke October box office records with a better-than-anticipated $48 million in receipts, easily topping the previous record holder, "Red Dragon." Cuba Gooding Jr.'s "Radio" did about what was expected, earning an estimated $14 million during its opening weekend. The other new wide release, "Beyond Borders," didn't even break into the Top 10, bringing in a mere $2 million over its first three days. Full Box Office Report:

"Kill Bill Vol. 1" opened with an estimated $22 million, making it the fourth biggest October opener. Not bad, but not as good as some pre-release estimates. Jack Black with "School of Rock" held on strong to come in 2nd during its second week of release. Black's performance as a rock and roll teacher bested the George Clooney/Catherine Zeta-Jones romantic comedy "Intolerable Cruelty," which opened in 4th place behind the other new wide release, "Good Boy." Movie Review: "Kill Bill Vol. 1"
Uma Thurman turns into a lean, mean killing machine in "Kill Bill Vol. 1," Quentin Tarantino's eagerly awaited fourth film. Not for the faint of heart, "Kill Bill" is bloody beyond belief (in some instances, comically so). I'm a fan of Tarantino's work, so that might have tainted my positive review of this film.
