Box Office Report - August 15-17, 2003

"Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Friday the 13th" fans turned out in better numbers than anticipated as "Freddy vs. Jason" nabbed $36 million at the box office (that's even better than the opening figures for "American Wedding"). Costner regained some of the box office status he had lost with "Dragonfly" and "Message in a Bottle" as "Open Range" opened with an impressive $14 million. And unfortunately for Warner Bros., the new skater flick "Grind" failed to finish in the top 10 (#12 with $2.5 million). Full Box Office Report:
