Anne HathawaySurprise, surprise... No, this one wasn't a surprise at all. Anne Hathaway, as expected, earned her first Oscar just as everyone anticipated she would for her performance in Les Miserables. Hathaway, who was nominated in 2009 for Rachel Getting Married, has been cleaning up this 2012-2013 awards season and Oscar glory was pretty much a sure thing.

Hathaway smiled a huge smile and said, "It came true." After thanking the Academy for her nomination as well as thanking her fellow nominees, she said, "I must thank Hugh Jackman - Hugh, you are the best." She went on to thank director Tom Hooper and the creative team, the studio, and her team. Her friends, family and her husband were also thanked. "Here's hoping that some day in the not-too-distant future the misfortunes of Fantine will only be found in stories and never more in real life," said Hathaway, winding up her speech.

Hathaway's taken a lot of heat throughout the awards season for seeming a little fake during her speeches, so it'll be interesting to see how this one's dissected.
