Dakota Fanning and Danielle Macdonald will be joining Diane Lane and Elizabeth Banks on the thriller, Every Secret Thing, based on the book by Laura Lippman. Nicole Holofcener (writer/director Lovely & Amazing, Friends with Money) adapted the novel for the screen and Amy Berg is directing the picture which is eyeing a March 25th start of filming in New York. Berg's known for her work helming the documentaries Deliver Us From Evil and West of Memphis and will be making her narrative feature film debut with Every Secret Thing.
The official synopsis: "The story follows two 11-year-old girls who are convicted of murdering a baby and are incarcerated until they turn 18. Upon their release, children start to go missing; as the police turn their attention to the duo, the mystery surrounding the original murder comes back to light."
According to production companies Likely Story, Merced Media Partners, Palmstar Media Capital, and Hyde Park International, Fanning and Macdonald will take on the roles of the 18 year olds. Lane is set to play one of their mothers and Banks will be tackling the role of the lead police officer.
Fanning is currently shooting The Last of Robin Hood with Susan Sarandon and Kevin Kline.
