Deadline says it's a done deal while The Hollywood Reporter says it's still in the negotiation stage, and Marvel's not commenting at all yet. But all signs point to Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation) as the actor who will be tackling the lead role of Peter Quill / Star-Lord in the sci-fi adventure epic, Guardians of the Galaxy.
Pratt was recently seen in a supporting role in Zero Dark Thirty and in Movie 43 with his real-life wife, Anna Faris. He recently wrapped up work on The Delivery Man with Cobie Smulders and Vince Vaughn. Pratt's also providing a voice in the upcoming Lego animated movie.
Guardians of the Galaxy is currently in the rewrite stage. Marvel's aiming for an August 1, 2014 and James Gunn is on board to direct.
