Could this be the last big casting announcement for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For? Directors Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez have signed up Eva Green to play Ava Lord, a character Miller says is "every man's most glorious dreams come true, she's also every man's darkest nightmares." Sounds wicked...
Dimension Films released the news, with Rodriguez and Miller commenting on Green's starring role in the Sin City sequel: "We've been wanting to tell this story for a very long time. Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City. From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green. We are ecstatic that Eva is joining us."
For those keeping track, the confirmed cast now includes Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Josh Brolin (taking over the role played by Clive Owen in Sin City), Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Dennis Haysbert (originally played by Michael Clarke Duncan), Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Jamie Chung (played in Sin City by Devon Aoki), Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, and Julia Garner.
The plot basics: "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For weaves together two of Miller's classic stories with new tales in which the town's most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more repulsive inhabitants."
Dimension Films is releasing the Sin City sequel on October 4, 2013.
