Which, obviously, leads to the multi-part question: what is Tomorrowland and why haven't I heard of it before? What it is is the new live-action Disney movie in the works that was formerly known as 1952.
Per Disney's official announcement today, 1952 is now Tomorrowland and George Clooney, up for a Best Picture Oscar as a producer of Argo, will definitely be tackling a lead role. Brad Bird, director of The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, will be at the helm of the film and co-wrote the script with Damon Lindelof (Lost, Prometheus). Disney previously announced they'll be releasing 1952 Tomorrowland on December 19, 2014.
Clooney will next be seen in Gravity with Sandra Bullock and is in pre-production on The Monuments Men which he'll write, produce, direct, and star in.
