Iron Man 3 in IMAXMarvel and IMAX have confirmed the upcoming release of Iron Man 3 starring Robert Downey Jr, Don Cheadle, Gwyneth Paltrow, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, and Ben Kingsley in IMAX theaters. The big-budget action film will be digitally remastered for its IMAX run which will kick off on April 25th internationally and May 3 domestically.

It was inevitable that Iron Man 3 would get an IMAX release as Marvel's three most recent releases (Iron Man 2, Thor, The Avengers) also hit screens in that format. Commenting on the IMAX release, IMAX Chairman and President Greg Foster stated: "Marvel and IMAX are a perfect one-two punch and the Iron Man franchise has become a global phenomenon that resonates with fans around the world."

As for what fans can expect from this third Iron Man film, in our interview with the cast, director, and Marvel's Kevin Feige last summer, director Shane Black offered this insight into Iron Man 3: "Yeah, fresh, different, but there is an idea about being big. To me it's an idea about capturing and redoubling the intensity that The Avengers managed to capture, that sort of lightning in a bottle feel of really stuffing so much into a limited space. We're trying to get as much in this as we can."

The official synopsis: "Marvel's Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?"
