Is it Dylan McDermott or Dermot Mulroney who'll be starring in Freezer? [watch the SNL skit]. It's definitely Dylan McDermott as confirmed today by Envision Media Arts. The action thriller was written by Tom Doganoglu (how do you pronounce that?) and Shane Weisfeld and will be directed by Mikael Salomon, a former cinematographer who directed A Far Off Place and Hard Rain.
Announcing McDermott's casting, producer Lee Nelson said, "We are excited that Dylan McDermott and Mikael Salomon have come together on this project. Their collaboration will combine Dylan's intensity as an actor with Salomon's powerful direction to capture an edge of your seat fight for life."
The official synopsis: "Robert (McDermott), an everyday guy, finds himself tested beyond human endurance when he awakens to find himself locked in an industrial freezer by Russian thugs. They insist he returns the $8 million dollars he stole from them, the only problem is, Robert has no idea what they are talking about.... As he fights for his life before freezing to death, the truth slowly reveals itself."
McDermott's currently seen on the small screen creeping everyone out as a twisted man with mommy issues in American Horror Story and he'll be in theaters in Olympus Has Fallen in March. He also recently wrapped up work on the comedy movie, Behaving Badly.
