GodzillaWhat's happening with the Godzilla movie? Glad you asked as there's a lot going on behind the scenes, according to Deadline, and not all of it's necessarily good news for fans of the large lizard. It seems there's a battle of some sort going on between Legendary Pictures and producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee. Lee and Lin are responsible for reviving the franchise with Legendary, and the disagreement with Legendary is reportedly over "creative and financial differences," per The Hollywood Reporter.

In more positive news for the revamp of the legendary creature franchise, Frank Darabont (ex-The Walking Dead showrunner) has been brought in to work on a rewrite of Max Borenstein's script. Also, for those wondering what's happening at the helm, Monsters director Gareth Edwards is still attached to direct Godzilla.

Warner Bros is aiming for a May 16, 2014 theatrical release.
