Quentin Tarantino's bloody Western/slavery tale Django Unchained was a late entry in the awards race, with screenings of Tarantino's latest film not held until some voting groups had already made their nominations. But those critics who did manage to take in an early screening have been recognizing the work of the ensemble, in particular singling out Christoph Waltz who reteams with his Inglorious Basterds director to play a bounty hunter who unites with a slave, who in turn is searching for his wife.
Sitting down to chat with Waltz about Django Unchained was a memorable experience. Waltz didn't want to talk about his character, but did offer some interesting tidbits on Tarantino and his co-stars.
